Frequently asked questions
Recording won't start or my route isn't drawing
Make sure Rovia has location access. Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Rovia, choose Always and turn Precise Location on. "Always" is required so recording can continue while the app is in the background. GPS signal can also weaken indoors or in tunnels.
The app is draining my battery
Rovia only uses GPS while a ride is actively being recorded; tracking stops as soon as you finish. To reduce drain on long rides, keep the screen off and use low power mode. If you see heavy usage outside of recording, close and reopen the app and let us know.
I can't add friends or I'm missing from the leaderboard
Both people need a Rovia account and the request has to be accepted. The weekly leaderboard is calculated from rides recorded that week and resets every week. If a ride is missing, check that it finished syncing and that you had a connection.
My share card won't generate or save
Saving a card to your photo library needs the Photos permission (Settings → Rovia → Photos). If card creation fails, open the ride and try again; if it keeps failing, send us the ride date.
Subscriptions, payments and refunds
In-app purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple. To view or cancel your subscription go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Refunds are reviewed by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
My friends can see me live on the map — how do I turn that off?
Live location is only shared while a ride is being recorded, and only according to your visibility setting. Set visibility to Private so nobody can see it, or Friends only to limit it to people you have accepted. Sharing always stops automatically when you end the ride. More detail in the Privacy Policy.
I can't add a vehicle or upload a vehicle photo
Uploading a vehicle photo needs the Photos permission. Check Rovia's photo access in Settings. The free plan limits how many vehicles you can add; Rovia PRO removes that limit.
I want to download or delete my data
Email us from the address registered to your account at [email protected]. We resolve requests within 30 days. You can also delete your account yourself using the steps below.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account and everything attached to it — rides, routes, garage, friends and share cards — from inside the app at any time:
- Open Rovia and go to the Profile tab.
- Open Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Deletion cannot be undone. Your account and data are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days at the latest. If you can't access the app, email [email protected] from your registered address with the subject "Account deletion".
Riding safely
Rovia is a ride recording app; it is not a navigation or safety system. Start recording before you set off, don't interact with your phone while driving or riding, and always follow local traffic law. See the Terms of Service for more.
